Elta Detailing

In December 2021, me and Jon Rowan were on our way to look at a new car for me. Well on this journey it came up in conversation that I wanted to start my own Detailing business. We talked about specifics, what I would do, what I would offer, how I would do it. We talked all about it, then after the drive that drive disappeared.
Fast forward to March 13th I was laying in my bed wide awake, unable to sleep, my thoughts racing because all I could think about was this business. I had a massive push, this strong urge to do it, to prove to myself I could do it, so I sat up all night, getting prices, creating business plans, figuring out what I would need to do the bare minimum but start getting my name out there. In the following days I started getting all the supplies I needed, a cheap 20-dollar portable vacuum from Walmart, 20 dollars in ads, some rags and some sprays and I pushed myself to go. Got myself a name (Elta Detailing) then on March 18th was my first detail, and it felt AMAZING when I finished. This just fueled my drive even more. In the following weeks in the rain, the cold, I pushed through and kept going. Then the big day came.
April 5th, I left Walmart. With the little supplies I had, and the last $100 I had for that week I spent it all on Facebook ads and pushed through. Even when people told me not to, I wouldn’t be successful, I couldn’t do it. I ignored it, focused on myself, my intuition, what I wanted to do, my drive to be different, and I kept pushing. It was going extremely well at this point, hard, and kind of miserable but my name was getting out there.
Then the day that all the suffering, and no sleep, and the pushing came to a reward. On April 16th I had 3 details all on different sides of town. I was extremely tired and very bummed out because I had a complaint and I felt like an absolute failure. That's when I met Lindsey Wilson. When I met Lindsey, not only was she extremely nice and very nice to talk to, I came to find out she's the owner of Otter Creek Inn Eau Claire-Altoona WI. I had told her about my DECA trip and that I was still a little short on money, and she was more than happy to help out. Towards the end of her detail she had mentioned to me that she had a garage she could possibly use. I was ecstatic at this point, that drive to be different, to do something I wanted to do, something I love, and someone could see that and wanted to help out.
Over the next couple weeks we talked and then both went on our trips. When we got back we went head on into getting that garage ready for some people to come. Then on Saturday April 30th, 2022 I had my first detail in the garage. It felt amazing, I had a break room people could stay in, an area I could use for my details, everything just felt perfect. I am now successfully running a detailing business with the help of my family, especially Madee, who has helped a ton along the way, and Lindsey and I’m not looking back now.
